Urban Oasis

High Line is finally opened to the public! This project has been in the works since the 80’s. It used to be an old freight train track and has been turned into an elevated park in the middle of the Meatpacking district. It’s absolutely beautiful there. A great city getaway, even if its only for a few hours…. and maybe you could catch a celebrity sighting?

A Day at InStyle

We were invited to set up shop at InStyle for a day last week.  Fashionistas from the whole Time and Life building stopped by for some retail therapy.

lobbySecurity was tight at the Time and Life building.  Our garment trunks were too big for their X-ray machine so they brought out the DOGS.

retail-therapyquirky-outfitchipotle-shrimpWe got lunch from the building food court.

taking-fivenicoles-cubicleNicole gave our interns a tour of THE CLOSET, similar to the one in Devil Wears Prada.  Unfortunately no pictures were allowed.

Is Hidden Height Obtainable?

Being a bit on the short side, I’m always looking for ways to give myself a little more height.  But there are some situations where you don’t want to look like you are wearing heels.  So when I met Ce Ce Chin, the designer of 80%20 at a trade show a few years back, I became an instant fan of her shoes.  Her unique designs are all about the hidden heel.  Her shoes are both cool and comfortable, which are perfect for running around the garment district.  I can be fashionable without getting blisters.  Today I got 2 new pairs for the summer.  Check them out.

Gen Art Shop NYC

Every season I look forward to the Gen Art Shop NYC.  I get to catch up with all my industry friends and get the best deals on cool clothes and accessories from up and coming designers.  The event always has cool giveaways, free hair and makeup makeovers, free drinks, and this year they had Pinkberry yogurt for dessert…yummm!  It’s a really fun shopping experience that you don’t want to miss.  Our booth was crazy busy.

I met Round Jewelry designer Lila at the event.  I love these earrings on the left because of their Art Deco feel, one of my favorite eras when it comes to fashion and art.  This double bangle is just so cool, masculine and feminine all in one.  Check out her site.

“Cupcake, your middle name is trouble.”

When you need to satisfy your sweet tooth craving with something decadent and frosty, look no further…

mmm...yummy

I get my sugar fix from Burgers & Cupcakes. My favorites are the vanilla cupcakes with the buttercream frosting and the raspberry on top and the peanut butter marble cupcakes, which are marble cupcakes with dark chocolate ganashe as the icing and a bit of peanut butter on top. Both are so decadent and flavorful… my mouth is watering as I type.

Whenever you decide to walk around Hell’s Kitchen (or just have the sudden craving for the best cupcakes ever),
you must go to BURGERS & CUPCAKES.

Yes, that is all.

Spring 2009 Collection!

spring09

Spring 2009 collection reflects my love for the bold and whimsical atmosphere of the 80’s.  It allowed me to play with the exaggerated details of the decade, such as sharp silhouettes and shapes.

For Spring, I looked back to my childhood memories of the quintessential 80’s films, music, and pop culture, and infuses them with modern tailoring.
